Creative Voyage Crucible- Photography Workshop

2 Day Retreat

September 14-15

Embrace your curiosity and join photographer Flore Vallery-Radot for a luxurious weekend workshop of creativity, visiting and photographing artist’s studios in the beautiful town of Maleny on the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Flore uses the power of photography, to peek over the shoulder of a painter in her studio or a potter at her wheel, to capture a joyous table full of fresh food or local cheeses slapped onto a loaf fresh from the oven.

This workshop is for………

Aspiring and experienced artists, photographers, stylists and artisan makers of every kind! Expect a mix of creative professionals and passionate amateurs looking to expand their skills, and break through their creative blocks through imaginative photography, and networking with creative folk .

What to expect……….

Saturday begins at the historic Old Witta School a 7 minute drive from Maleny. We will start with Flore’s photography 101. The afternoon will end at ceramic artist Shannon Garson‘s studio capturing the beauty of the tools and maker’s hands in the golden afternoon light. Champagne and cheese will be our wind down!

On Sunday we travel down a tree lined country lane to visit the studio of painter Marvene Ash. Marvene is known for her sensitive, gestural paintings and pastel drawings of landscapes, domestic objects , chairs, flowers and fabric.  Her studio and home are in a beautifully renovated old cow bails. Throughout the house and studio you can see the finely crafted furniture and handmade doors made by Marvene’s partner Jon Davies. Lunch is a feast served on one of Jon’s handmade tables. Marvene has been a great inspiration and friend to Shannon since Shannon was at school and it’s so exciting to be able to share her art and studio with the Creative Voyagers!

This retreat includes………..

*Saturday and Sunday homemade lunches, soups, salads and pies.

*Homemade cakes and biscuits and local cheeses, leaf tea in handmade teapots (of course!) and freshly ground coffee for morning and afternoon tea each day.
